...WIP Wednesday...

...first off...I've joined a book club...my sweet sister is always talking about her book club and all the fun they have...so I was super excited to be invited to one right here in my neighborhood...it's just a sweet bunch of ladies from my community...plus a sister of one and a friend of another...8 of us all together...I went to the June meeting last week even though I hadn't read that book...not quite knowing what to expect...but they really did discuss the book (Sacre Bleu) in depth...it was a lot of fun...then we came to a consensus on the book for July...

...Let's Pretend This Never Happened: (A Mostly True Memoir) by Jenny Lawson...my book came Monday...and I only had a little bit of time to read...but it promises to be a very funny one and I'm looking forward to it and the discussion...

...I have been knitting as well...the socks are almost finished...and I also have another baby blanket on the needles...remember the African singers from a couple of weeks ago...well...one of those ladies is expecting...and I'm trying a new pattern...if it works out...I'll share it with y'all...HA!...

...do you belong to a book club?...if so...or even if not...what are you reading?...

~Have a lovely day!

  1. Oh! I wish I belonged to a book club; books are wonderful, sharing thoughts of them over a cup of tea is fine thing too. By the by, I love your socks...

  2. I would love to belong to a book club, but where I live it's not really practical. I have seen that book on Amazon and wondered about it so now maybe I'll give it a try. Your socks look really nice and I hope the pattern works out.

  3. In fact I belong to two - one chooses books that I never like but it is more of a social get together with a book as the excuse!

The other is in the library and reads more popular books which they supply.

I do enjoy them as they bring together a variety of people and views on books.

One book I particularly liked was 'A Week in December' by Sebastion Faulks. I also liked The Poisonwood Bible'.

  4. I can't wait to hear your thoughts on that book... I was looking at it the other day at the book store and decided against it (I had already had 2 cookbooks in hand).

I'm still searching for a book club since our move north with little success. I'm currently reading The Omnivore's Dilemma - loaned to me by an amazing co-worker, and I'm loving it. Would highly recommend it to you :)
