...from the Mexican Tienda...

...I'm loving this...
...Have you ever tried Piloncillo?...sugar crust?...

"Definition: Piloncillo is made from pure, unrefined sugar that is pressed into a cone shape. It tastes very similar to brown sugar with a molasses flavor (even though it does not contain molasses) and you can use it for anything that calls for brown sugar. It's name means "little pylon" because of it's shape. The smaller cones are usually around 1 ounce and the larger ones around 8 ounces." from About.com
...cute little cone...
...the first thing I used my piloncillo for...was to sweeten my coffee...
...I just grated a couple of spoonfuls of sugar off the cone...
...and added some delicious homemade cashew cream...I make it just like the almond milk...just with cashews instead of almonds...so creamy and sweet and caramel-y...really really good...

...so I've given up my Silk habit...HA!...for wholesome cashew milk and unprocessed sugar...

~Have a lovely day!

  2. I've not heard of this, looks like the very first sugar to arrive in the UK which came in cones.
