...A weekend wedding...

...We don't often go into the Catholic Church here (well I do because that's where we have our Cub Scout meetings)...

...but the Man was helping the Father officiate a wedding between one of our parishoners and one of theirs...I say ours and theirs but of course it's all One Church...

...I love to go in the Catholic Church - it's beautiful - lots of statues...their crosses usually still have Christ on them while ours are usually empty - symbolic of the Resurrection...

...just lots of statues - I like this one of Mother Teresa...

...the frescoes in this Church are beautiful....

...so is the stained glass...

...as the ceremony finally got underway...

...the Father and the Man process in...

...then the bride...

...this was the processional...just beautiful...

...that's the Man at the lectern...notice the Bride and Groom are seated...that's different from a Lutheran service where they (poor souls) have to remain standing the entire time...

...the Blessing...

...it was a lovely wedding...

Looks like it was a lovely wedding.
It's always interesting to see how different religions (or different denominations) celebrate and preform their ceremonies.

  4. Hey!I didn't get to sit down at my Catholic wedding, haha! That's a truly beautiful church. It always warms my heart to see different "denominations" come together.

They got to sit! At my Catholic wedding we had to stand facing all of our guests. I was so nervous. That was over 8 years ago though. We also didn't have a full mass because not all of our guests were Catholic.

That church is just amazing. I should share pictures of our church. The inside was made to look like the inside of a boat (apostles) and then at the very head of the church is a large resurrected Jesus with arms out stretched.

  6. It does look like a beautiful building and I like the idea of bride and groom being seated too. I like Karen's comment - made me laugh :)
Hope you have a very Merry Christmas!

  7. living in a country where 90% of the population is catholic, you can imagine that catholic churches and services and weddings are my daily reality. the first time i went to a non catholic service i was mesmerized. funny how our realities are different, but the feelings and reactions are so similar :)

  8. We had a Mass for our ceremony and we sat through a lot of it. I enjoyed that part. Thanks for covering this wedding so positively. Living in NC, I tend to hear more about what people think is wrong with the Catholic church rather than the beauty it contains. :-)
