...11.11...Over the Weekend...

...we got up early and had coffe then headed straight out to get the shopping done...and the Man had ordered a gallon of porch paint and I needed to pick that up at the Sherwin Williams store and Saturdays there are pretty crazy...
...we got a lot of stuff...mostly just 'regular' fruits and veg...
...the Man is trying to eat 'healthier' and he said he doesn't particularly like Earth Balance (my fave vegan butter)...so I got him some Miyoko's to try...
...I also got a loaf of really-really-marked-down bread...27¢...crazy...right?...and I got Violife cream cheese...plain bagels...and some everything topping because the Man likes blueberry bagels best...and I like everything bagels best...but we agreed that we'd both eat a plain bagel and top it with either blueberries or a sprinkle of everything and save a bit of space in the fridge...
...so...since I had not eaten anything before shopping...I toasted a plain bagel and added some Violife cream cheese and a sprinkle of Everything...and I've already learned that I'll have to go lighter with my sprinkle next time as this was a bit much...
...a quick little winter garden update...after watering every day for a couple of weeks I was so happy that we finally got some rain...
...these vincas...still beautiful...in November...
...and then we got a bit of a surprise delivery...
...we had ordered a new sofa for the den...remember we turned our formal dining room into a den/tv room...and until now we'd only had the two old recliners in there...fine for just us two but not so nice if we have any company...
...so we ordered a new sofa...and agreed on a lovely forest green...the sofa itself will come later so we were surprised to receive the ottoman early...I do love it and I'm looking forward to having a comfy seating area in the den...
...Sunday after church I made another batch of sauerkraut...I just chop cabbage until I have exactly 3 lbs...(and .1 oz apparently)...
...and then I add 1 tsp of kosher salt per pound...so three...and massage it in and pack it into a half gallon jar and set it on the counter for about 3 weeks...
...and I also made a batch of croutons...nice crunchy ones that don't hurt the roof of my mouth or break a tooth the way the commercial ones do...they are always so hard...

~wishing you a lovely start to your week!

  2. Wow! That was a great mark down on the bread. I love the new footstool/ottoman and the colour too.
