Molded Food

I found these at the local thrift store for a quarter each!

I need them for some of Julia's recipes - I'm so excited about making molded food - I think it was a lot more common back in the 60s...

  2. I remember these when I was a kid. Later, Tupperware made plastic versions of them but I miss the old tin/metal ones.

My mother in law has that exact same pan(on the right.
I love molded pans, especially cake pans. I am doing a molded Garfield cake for Alex's birthday next Sunday.

Now I want to scour the St. Vincents down the street. They always have really neat kitchen items at a good price. I just watched Julie and Julia and I am inspired to cook with Julia Child too. Probably not to the extent that Julia did though. :)

  6. Oh, boy! That photo brought back a vivid memory. Mom used to make a molded gelatin salad - with lots of chopped vegetables - and I think 7-up. Hadn't thought of that in about 40 years!!
