...W.I.A.Y. + Mod Pizza and EARTH FARE...

...kindof a boring day of vegan eats...
...we had double chocolate muffins for breakfast...
...for lunch we just made sammies...
...and for dinner...I made some fresh noodles...
...to go with the leftover sauce heated up...it was all yummy though...

...you know how it is...the day after traveling and eating out...all that rich salty food from Tuesday...but it was fun visiting with the newlyweds on Scout's last day...
...this was my first trip ever to Mod Pizza...it's a Subway like pizza restaurant...you go through a line and choose your toppings the same way you do at Subway...so I just did a Build-Your-Own...BYO...with black olives, mushrooms and onions...and vegan cheese...so nice...it was delicious and I had a salad on the side...it was good too...same concept you choose your salad ingredients the same way...
...right across the street from Mod Pizza was an Earth Fare...

...Earth Fare is near and dear to my heart ...it began in Asheville back in the 70's...
...I wandered around the aisles reminiscing...and buying a few things too...
...just a few...I got the everything cookies...so much like my sissie's Garbage cookies...
...the person in the deli told us that all their sandwich cookies are actually vegan...but only the everything ones said so on the tag...
...they were yummy...
...I also got a baguette...and a bag of thick rolled organic oats...for the Man to try...and some organic whole wheat pastry flour...

...what did you eat yesterday?...

~Have a lovely day!

    1. Hey K,
...I miss the easy access to a health food store...it's been years since we've had one close by...probably the last time one was convenient was when we lived in Balsam Grove...and Hallelujah Health Food was in Brevard...we could stop anytime we were in town...
      Love,

  2. We have an Earth Fare close by, I rarely go because they are quite pricey, but stopped in yesterday. I read your blog post in the early morning hours and then my daughter-in-law stopped by to drop of grandson Ralph for the day and she too out of blue mentioned Earth Fare and how the take and bake pizzas are the best. How odd to have two mentions of this store in a two hour span. So I stopped by the store yesterday, I LOVE oats, found the thick cut oats and got some, picked up a take and bake pizza for the grandsons for dinner, and found jars of minced ginger. The oats, although they take a while to cook, are quite divine, (I must admit that oatmeal is probably my most favorite food of all, if I believed in reincarnation I may have been a horse in a previous life, or would be one in the next LOL).
Boys enjoyed the pizza, and I will definitely go back when I want more oats and run out of the minced ginger.

My latest vegan favorite is Kitchari (sp) a mix of split mung beans and jasmine rice cooked with a little cumin seed, ginger and tumeric. I cooked up a batch yesterday and enjoyed it for my lunch, I mix in a little lemon juice just before eating.

    Peace be with you,

    Bean

...it's so funny when something like that happens...the Man liked the oats...and he is very particular about his oats...haha...
