...W.I.P. Wednesday...

...Scout shipped for basic training yesterday...and I wanted a support "U.S. Air Force MOM" tee to wear to the ceremony...
...so I got busy making one...of course...

...I downloaded the logo...
...and then I just cut and pasted some big outline letters together to spell the work Mom...
...and printed those out and then cut through the print and the freezer paper to make the transfer...
...I got a $1 navy tee shirt at goodwill...and of course the only plain one I could find was too big...so I used an existing shirt that fits me as a pattern to cut it down to size...
...and then I used my new sewing machine to stitch it up...
...it actually has lots of different stitches...this is a stretch overlock one...fun to try out...
...slipped the shirt onto the ironing board...with a piece of paper underneath in case any paint goes through the shirt...
...centered and lined up the print out/cutout...
...removed the printout...and ironed the freezer paper stencil in place...
...carefully added the little center cutouts...
...mixed up some light blue paint for the MOM word...the only colour I wanted to use that I didn't have...
...and spounced away...
...all done...silver for the logo...white for the letters...and light blue for the MOM...
...peeled off the freezer paper...
...and tried it on...

...it was a surprise for Scout...he smiled his sheepish smile when he saw it...

...what's in your workbasket?...

~Have a lovely day!
