...W.I.P. Wednesday...Christmas Cookies...

...or...this could be titled...Easiest EVER two ingredient Christmas Cookies...
...because all I did was take a box of Red Velvet Cake Mix...and add water...

...there's a recipe on the side of the box for Red Velvet Crinkle Cookies...and I thought they looked pretty...

...and Christmas-y...
...formed them into little balls...and dusted them in powdered sugar...
...placed on a parchment lined baking sheet...
...and the magic happens as they bake...
...they get all these pretty cracks and crevices...
...so pretty...so Christmas-y...
...and the texture is perfect...there's a crisp crunch and then a soft and chewy middle...
...we got about 16 cookies from one box of mix...
...so that was fun...and so...so easy...and it got me thinking that I could do this with basically any flavor of Cake Mix...

...are you making any special Christmas cookies?...

~Have a lovely day!

  2. Funny you should post that. Just a couple of weeks ago, I saw on Pinterest a post about using cake mix as cookie batter. I had some extra yellow cake mixes and assorted ingredients to add so I made a variety of cookies, peppermint chip, coconut, pecan, and butterscotch chip. They were very good. I will try the Red Velvet too, sure are pretty. MOM

  3. Christmas cookies - or biscuits as we say here - are not a big thing for us. Mostly people eat shortbread at Christmas.

  4. they look so pretty and tasty!
and - i made christmas cookies with a yellow cake mix yesterday! i used non-dairy white chocolate creamer for the liquid, and we put green sugar and crushed peppermints on the tops. they turned out pretty fabulous!

  5. I typed a long comment and lost it. So I'll just say that is a very simple recipe. I love crinkle cookies so I'll buy a box of that cake mix to have on hand. Enjoy your cookies.
