...2.23...W.I.P. Wednesday...

...finally...another F.O.

...this was the kiddos Anniversary giftie...it's from this Amazon Kit...and it has several different brides and grooms to choose from...it's so cute..
...first up...I changed out the cream coloured Aida cloth for a smaller white piece from my stash...because the Bride's dress is going to be cream coloured and I thought it would show up better on the white cloth...
...I started with the groom...and didn't do the full beard from the pattern...only leaving off the little bits on either side of his mouth...as he had a kind of mustache and scruffy beard on the day...
...his suit is actually navy...and his shoes are black...but it's kind of hard to tell...

...I was totally not loving the black outline of his peach coloured bow-tie...so I thought I'd change that to a softer colour later...

...now...on to the Bride...I really couldn't match the sort of burgundy colour that it was on the day with any thread...so I used some crewel thread also from stash...it's not as 'shiny' as it should be...but the colour is a good match...and I decreased the bun height by one row...and omitted the swoop of hair over her right eye...she had more of a classic bun with ringlets look going...
...finished her face and arms...and added the little french knot earrings...but you couldn't really see them at all...and they looked kind of funny in her little ringlets...so I snipped them off...she did wear earrings on the day though...
...then her dress...was quite the hodge-podge...using several different patterns...she had the sweetheart neckline from one...but with tiny straps...and the belted waist from another...and the train from yet another pattern...

...and you could choose to have the Bride hold her bouquet center front of down at the side...so I chose the latter...
...outlined the Bride's dress in a soft grey...added a veil and the bouquet...and the Bride and Groom were finished...
...then all that was left were a couple of hearts and the name and date...
...you can see that I did change out the Groom's bowtie outline for the softer grey that I'd used to outline the Bride's dress...and I like it a lot better than the black...
...ready to frame...
...then...I just trimmed it up and popped it into a driftwood coloured frame...and sent it on it's way...
...we also sent Our Airman a funny cookbook...he absolutely loved the Bob's Burgers cartoon...it is really good...none of the burgers are vegan...but...hey...burgers are one of the easiest things to veganize...

...what's in your workbasket this week?...

  1. There is a Bob's Burgers cookbook?! Hmmmm. I am intrigued. That's a show I've seen quite a lot of, at least for me.

And that is SUCH a sweet gift. Well done! (I love those little bird scissors--mine is gold.)

I'm on a sewing bender right now. It seems to be all I want to do in my free time (aside from puzzles). I've got a shirt for me cut out and a shirt for Matt cut out. Hoping to get at least one of them stitched up tomorrow on my day off!
