...we had a couple of outside projects we needed to get done before the kiddos get here...one was to wash away all of the yellow pollen that we could...
...so we moved everthing off the back porch and sprayed down all of the furniture and then washed the pollen off the porch with the hose...
...and then we pulled up all of the turnips still in the winter garden...
...washed and cooked all of the greens...
...this is the third Instant pot full of greens that we got out of the little square foot patch of turnips...amazing...
...and we also peeled and cooked all of the actual turnips too...
...then we headed out shopping... a pretty minimal shop just for the week...
...but then we went to Trader Joes...
...to get a few 'special' things for Our Airman and his sweet family...
...then Sunday we met the Man's brother and his two sons for brunch...I had a delicious avocado toast...
...and then we went for a little hike on the riverwalk...

...3.29...Dinner and a Movie...
...to my sweet sissie Karen who blogs from her boat at McCraw Sails...Hey K...Glad you got to visit with Sharon and Buddy and Pat and Diane...Mom is looking pretty chipper...glad you got to be with her this week...Love,T
Glad ...to karen from Pumpkin Sunrise...Hi Karen...YAY for another baby sweater...they're the best...our daffies are long gone here...and the trees have mostly already bloomed and have small leaves...and we're still in the throes of pollen season...
...to Éphée from L'éphémère quotidienneté des repas et autres trucs de magie...Hi Éphée...both your lentil balls and your beans on toast look good...we don't really eat beans on toast much here...preferring to have most beans with cornbread...
...to Penny from Snap That Penny...Hi Penny...I love your new sofa...it's a lot like our new green one with the chaise longue at one side...I bet you'll really love it too...I loved your night sky photos too...
...on the reading front...I finished A Midwife's Tale - the Life of Martha Ballard based on her Diary 1785-1812...I really enjoyed it...I don't think I'm going to start anything until after the kiddos come and go as I have quite the list of things to get done before then...
...what have you been reading lately?... ...we just had leftover spaghetti and a salad for supper...and the movie was the rather depressing The Day of Wrath...oddly it was classed as a 'horror/melodrama'...it's a Danish film about an old woman accused of witchcraft and a young woman in an unhappy marriage with a much older man...so again...it's a film about some people...and I'd definitely agree with the melodrama classification...but not the horror...horrific yes...but not a horror film like The Shining...
...what have you been watching lately?...

...3.28...Friday Update...
...so first we primed with a tinted primer...I actually liked the primer colour a lot...
...but the SW Potentially Purple is a very pretty colour too...this photo looks pretty true to real life on my pc...
...but the colour looks quite different in different light...
...here we're cutting the Ditra de-coupler...and you can see that it's a different colour in artificial light...
...the next morning with the Ditra installed...
...then I laid out and cut all of the tile...starting at the doorway
...and I'm going to go against conventional wisdom here and actually set the tile from the doorway to the back wall...
...because this front wall is out of plumb/plane...
...pretty badly...
...so this first row had to be cut to fit that space exactly...
...tile stacked in order at the back of the room...
...and all set...
...and dry...
...then the grouting begins...
...and ends...
...getting everything all wiped down...
...still a bit hazy...so a second wipe down was needed...
...and the tile floor is complete...

...3.27...What I ate in a day...
...breakfast was overnight oats with apple and walnut...of course my oats were only 'soaked' for a few minutes...
...for lunch we had baked tofu with vegan mayo, dijon mustard...and some lettuce from the garden on the last of a loaf of rye bread...I got the heel of course...
...and with that I just quickly steamed the tops that I pinched off of the collards that were about to bloom...and I brought them in and showed them to the Man...and said that they look exactly like little broccolis...so I was going to try them steamed...
...and you know what...they were a lot like broccoli...with a slightly stronger taste...
...I think the only snack I ate was a few of the small Okinawan sweet potatoes...we still have a few left...
...and supper was vegan spaghetti bolognese...and a big salad from the garden that included lettuce, spinach and radish leaves/greens...
...what delicious food have you been eating lately?...

...3.26...W.I.P. Wednesday...
...when I made my sweet SIL's birthday present back in November...I had a good amount of yarn leftover and thought I had enough to make another dishcloth...and looking back at that post I think if I hadn't tied up her little box with the same thread I'd probably have had enough...oh well...
...but I'm just a few stitches (double crochets) short of finishing this row...
...and the thread is made up of two strands of a sage-y green and two strands of white...so I found some sage green cotton in my stash...and just split apart a few feet of a white cotton four ply...
...and just finished the row with that...I think it looks pretty good...
...but I'll probably not gift this slightly imperfect one...haha...

...3.24...Over the Weekend...
...a pretty low-key weekend...
...toasted bagel and tofu scramble for breakfast...
...then we headed out to do the shopping...
...nothing much of note...I was looking for a celery root for a couple of Julia Child recipes...but we didn't find any...not really sure where to look for it...or maybe this is just not the season for it...
...back home to do some yardwork...the grass is still very brown...we got a new rain gauge...copper this time as the other pretty glass one froze and broke...
...the lillies that I plucked all of the dead leaves from are coming back and look very healthy...
...I pulled up a whole tote full of weeds...mostly from the stip of grass outside our fence...
...the rain gauge in action...we got over an inch of rain...
...and you can see it from the back porch without getting wet...haha...
...and Sunday after Church we had a nice stroll in the Botanical Gardens...
