...3.2...Over the Weekend...

...after we left Mom's...we went over to spend the day with the Man's Mom...it's her birthday...
...so we got a fancy bakery cake from a new bakery near us...
...and we put 8 big candles and 3 little candles...because 83 candles would just be too much...haha...
...and then she wanted to go up into the forest for a walk...it's still pretty brown...but there are some green daffodil shoots...
...we just followed the path...
...it meanders along the river...
...I thought I'd show you my sweater...haha...
...the river was beautiful and didn't show too much hurricane damage...
...past the chapel in the woods...
...and they are doing extensive work on the bridge which was damaged during the hurricane...
...established 1936...
...and then we took the Man's Mom for a mexican dinner...I got grilled veg and rice...and it was pretty delicious...
...then Sunday morning we loaded up all our loot and and came home...so I'll show you all of that...

...Mom gave us a box of all different kinds of vegan cereal that she'd gotten on sale for $1.98 (or maybe .99)...what a deal...there's also a jar of her delicious chow-chow in there...
...and we always get a couple of boxes of vegan croissants from the grocery bakery when we're up in the mountains...I've never seen them down here...
...and the Man's mom found this old McDonald's coffee mug and gave it to us...it's so cute...
...the haul from the Farmer's Market...
...onions...Japanese sweet potatoes...yellow eyes...oranges...hot relish...and sorghum syrup...
...and Mom had gotten these vegan goodies on sale too...
...then we didn't need much...but we did have to go shopping Sunday afternoon for a few things for the week ahead...
...absolutely nothing of note...
...oh...and Mom also gave us this 'space bag' kit...
...and it was time to take the electric blanket off the bed and store it for the summer anyway...
...so I removed the cords and stuffed it into a big bag and sealed it up...
...and then used the little handheld reverse pump thing-y to suck out all the air...
...and put the cords in a small box...they might puncture the bag so I didn't want to put them in there...
...and stowed it away on the top shelf of our closet for next winter...

~Wishing you a lovely start to your week!

  2. It's funny but I have a little pump like that and I can't for the life of me remember where I got it. But now I see yours and the bags and think I must have got it with some of my space savings bags along the way. I only ever use the vacuum cleaner to suck the air out of them but it's good to have a back up especially if you use it during travels. I'lll have to look for it and I hope I didn't give it away, lol. The walk where you went with your MIL looks very nice and I'm sure she really enjoyed spending time with you and your husband. The cake you got her looks lovely.
