...WOW!...what a difference a week of rain makes in the garden...
...I was lamenting the 5 inches of rain we got all in one week...when 1 inch a week for 5 weeks would have suited me better...but there's no denying that the plants loved it...
...we have baby zucchinis...
...the Man put his cages around his tomatoes in the standing bins...he planted marigolds in front...not the giant ones...they're still planted right beside the driveway at the end of the squashes...
...and the Morning Glories he planted behind them are climbing their strings...
...I remember they bloomed really late last year...like in October...
...I put the remaining two tomato cages around the remaining hybrid tomato and one of the Rutgers...the other three Rutgers will just have para-chord supports...trying that out after I saw it on YT vid...
...the Rattlesnake beans are looking lush and healthy...climbing up their strings...
...the PowWow Echinacia is blooming...it's so pretty...
...the Star Jasmine by the back porch still has a multitude of blooms...so we're still enjoying them and their fragrance...
...all of the lilies have popped open...
...the Ruby ones are stunning with their deep red and bright yellow center...
...and the frilly Apricot ones are so delicate...
...the pink rose continues to flourish...
...the yellow mini rose by the mailbox is still blooming like crazy...
...and the 'right-hand' hibiscus has finally decided to start growing...it did the same thing last year...
...and was about a month later than its sibling across the driveway...there's really no accounting for this difference as the conditions are exactly the same...
...we took the netting off of the cherry tree and picked the cherries...we don't even have enough this year for a single pie...
...but the tree is only 2 years old...
...we picked another small bowlful of blueberries...I could eat them all...but I won't...haha...
...what's growing in your backyard?...
~Have a lovely day!
