...WVU Visit...

...this has been a CRAZY summer...it seems like we've hardly been home at all...
...we took Scout to WVU for his first University visit...

...this is the back side of the much-photographed Woodburn Hall...
...it was quite a whirlwind tour...our first meeting was with the dean of the Honors College...Scout has good grades and will be eligible to live in the Honors Dorm his freshman year...and have all of the percs of the Honors College...
...The Honors Dorm...

...we were very impressed with this new facility...
...we were also very impressed with our 'boutique hotel'...

...this very long post is just sort of chronological photo dump...
...and I snapped a photo of the posh bath...we're gathering ideas that we like for the green bathroom reno...
...High Street...
...Taziki's hummus...so good...
...the rooftop spa at our hotel...
...so I snapped some rooftop photos of the city...
...looking up University...
...the Hotel Morgan...I liked the neon sign...
...the PRT...the personal transport pods that students use to get around campus...designed by NASA...they're amazing...you just get on and swipe your student id and tell the little car where you want to go...so much fun!...

...you can read all about it here...we thought it was pretty amazing...
...the Monongahela River which runs through town...
...then we went to the Visitor Center for our 3 hour tour...
...inside were several stations like this...you picked the catalog for your major off a shelf and this display appeared on the desktop...then you just used your fingers to turn pages or look at info about the profs...it was really neat...
...the tour took us all over campus...this is the front side of Woodburn Hall...the oldest part of campus...
...the Mountain Lair...aka the Student Union building...that's our tour bus out front...
...then we met the Mountaineer inside...our guide told us that there is serious competition to be the Mountaineer...he was nice...
...still touring campus...this is the stadium...
...the stairs inside the visitor center...they also had a big display wall...that had all of the prospective students names...but the screen changed before I could get a photo of it with Scout's name on it...arghh...
...then we had lunch at a local student eatery...Scout got the 'Blue and Gold' fries...really just french fries and bleu cheese dressing...haha...
...I had a bean burrito and Scout did too...it was yummy...
...then it was on to meet with a recruiter and the head of the Wildlife and Fisheries Management college...
...just a pretty view from the mountaintop...
...and a couple of things that Scout thought were funny...this building corner...labeled Cheap Corner...
...and Area 51...in case you thought it was in the desert...haha...

...and then we had to get home...so Scout could get packed up again to go to Band Camp...

~Have a lovely day!
