...11.22...Over the Weekend...

...it was a quiet weekend...
...which started...(as they often do) with vegan pancakes...
...and Gardein sausage...
...and then I decided to add a little scrambled tofu to the pan too...because the bigger the breakfast...the better...right...but then I totally did not take a photo of the finished product...oh well...
...picked up the weekly instacart shop...
...and then there were three...I dropped a dish on top of one of my beloved mugs in the sink...neither of them broke but the mug got cracked...I thought about keeping it...it wasn't actually broken...but decided not to...
...all of my watch batteries have died...sort of like socks...if you replace them all at once...they are all likely to wear out at the same time...
...so I just ordered some new ones from Amazon...and replaced aall the batteries...
...we (the Man and I) worked together to make a vegan version of Grandma Ople's Apple Pie recipe...he did the apple part...and I did the crust...
...there's a lot of Earth Balance in there...
...wrapped in my Pie Crust Helper...for a rest...
...I just rolled it out...
...and the Man had the apples all ready...sliced and sauced...
...and then I rolled out the other half to make the pretty lattice top...(I rarely do a lattice topped pie...do you?)...and I got to use my pretty little fluted cutter...
...filled the pie crust and started weaving...
...all done...it really is pretty...I should do it more often...
...brushed the top with almond milk...
...covered with foil...so it can cook through without browning the top too much...
...it turned out so pretty...
...and it was really really delicious...

~Wishing you a lovely start to your week!

  2. Your pie looks so tasty and it is fun to bake with another. I very rarely top my pies with lattice crust but they are so pretty.

...I rarely do the lattice...but I prefer a pie with a top crust of some sort...
