...11.24...W.I.P. Wednesday...

...OK...it's time to start finishing things up...I picked up the stitches around the neckline...there are a lot of them...194...I'm going to do the same twisted rib as the cuffs...
...so that's done...I slipped it over my shoulders and it looks nice and lies flat...
...one little faux pas...I had left the top stitches of the crocheted front placket open...thinking that I would do ribbing over the top...but that's not the way it's generally done...the placket goes right up to the top...so I'll have to pick those up and single crochet to the top...it won't be as easy as knitting across them would have been...oh well...
...and this is how much yarn I have left over from the 10 balls...not a lot...but enough to finish the seams I'm sure...
...so now...I don't want the front plackets to curl inward while I'm wearing the cardigan...so I want to face them with some ribbon or something...I have some cardis that have a ribbon backing the placket...so I rummaged around in my sewing box and came across this...
...it's actually cotton hem tape...and it's white...
...I think it will work fine...I'm just going to stitch it down over the little ridge formed by the stockinette stitch to single crochet border...

...but it's white...oh wait...I already said that...
...no worries though...I just got out my blue Sharpie...and some isopropyl alcohol...
...and now it's blue...not exactly the right shade...but definitely close enough...

...what's in your workbasket?...

~Have a lovely day!

  1. Amazing that you only have such a small amount left over! Cool dye-job with the sharpie. Can’t wait to see it on you! Love, K

  3. It's beautiful work you are doing! I located some steel crochet hooks and have started a doily. The hooks or the cotton are not exactly the right size so the gauge will be off a bit but it will do. I just need to use my hands right now after so much reading this year. Have a wonderful and Happy Thanksgiving.

    1. Thanks Penny,
...gauge is probably not too important with doilies...best wishes with that...
