...4.1...Friday Update...

...the little amigurami for Little Sissie is done now...I'll do a whole post about all her little knitted and crocheted gifties soon...after the package arrives in Japan...although it's not like she's going to see it...haha...
...the new puzzle is a lot of fun...
...and I think the border is the Man's favorite part...or maybe he's just the most enthusiastic about it right at the beginning...haha...
...but we're making good progress...for some reason this one with it's vivid colours seems a little bit easier than the one with the birds...
...and on the reading front...I've finished Paper Gods...
...it's title page says...A Novel of Money Race and Politics...

...This book has all the elements which make it out of my comfort zone...first of all...the word "Thriller"...pretty much means that I won't like it...it also has politics, race issues and murder(s)...I read the last chapter first (of course)...but I still found it quite a bit more 'predictable' that I would expect a thriller to be...I thought most of the characters were pretty transparent...and the good ones were likeable enough...and then some of them weren't as good as you thought they were...and some of the bad ones were worse than you thought they were too...the setting of the Southern "town" of Atlanta (really a pretty BIG city) was interesting as I've been to Atlanta a few times...and actually knew some of the places mentioned in the book...it was a pretty easy read though and thankfully not as 'thrilling' as I had expected...but I still wouldn't really recommend it...
...and I've penciled in the next few books...I'm really looking forward to reading Sherlock Holmes...we have a copy somewhere...I've just got to find it...

~Wishing you a lovely start to your weekend!...

  1. Cool that you're going to read the Neverending Story. It was a favorite movie for the kids for a short while. I LOVE the theme music!! I hum it often to this day when I'm working with my hands. Love, K

    1. Hey K,
...yeah...I'm really looking forward to that one...the challenge is a book that you've seen the movie of...not sure why it popped into my head though as I've not thought of it in YEARS...Our Airman loved the movie too though...

  2. You read the last chapter first, eh? My mom often did that. I'm quite the opposite.

I'd not considered it before, but: I think maybe Matt likes putting together the border best, too. :) Enjoy!

Now I want to read The Neverending Story. I never have, but I adored the movie as a kid.
