...4.13...Over the Weekend...

...we started the weeekend with vegan pancakes...
...I always stand around the stove eating the first pancake (which never turns out perfect for some reason)...and I put a little bead of vegan butter on each bite...
...and then served with maple syrup...I remember I used to eat an entire pool of syrup when I was little...but I've cut back considerably...haha...
...we did the weekly shopping...and I arranged it all for a nice photo...but then promptly put it all away without taking the photo...so weird and funny...
...and then we headed over to the botanical gardens...
...while it was still cool enough...it's going to get up into the 90s (≈35° C) this week and we're definitely in a drought...
...and we wanted to ride the new sky-tram...there was no queue this morning...
...we took our seats and had the gondola all to ourselves...
...and headed down the hill towards the river...
...it was just a beautiful spring morning...
...and the view of the river from up here was spendid...
...we spied a small flock of ducks floating on the river...
...you feel like you're right in the canopy of trees...
...so then we spent some time wandering around the gardens...
...the spring flowers were gorgeous...
...of course...
...I do love poppies...they are so cheerful...
...things are blooming at home too...the cherry tree will hopefully have more than 5 cherries this year...haha...
...and this amarylis looks like it's going to have 12 blooms...amazing...
...when we got back...I popped a loaf of whole wheat bread into the bread machine...
...this one rose up nicely...
...and turned out pretty perfectly...
...and I sliced it and packed it up in a re-used cereal bag clipped with a clothespin...
...outside we put out all the mulch...
...the beds always look so nice with a fresh layer of mulch...
...and then we started planting the garden...the lettuce will probably bolt now that the temperatures are going to be so hot...
...and finally the Man took down the little metal geckos to give them a fresh coat of paint as they were looking a little bedraggled...

~Wishing you a lovely start to your week!
