Re-Usable Gift Bags...AKA Pillowcases...

I always try to send my family presents in re-usable packaging...some years is a simple plastic storage box...others it's a canister or a juice pitcher...but this year I embroidered some pillowcases for each - red for the girls and green for the boys...and then stuffed them full of nice Christmas goodies...and tied them shut with ribbon...

How do you wrap your gifties?...throwaway paper or reusable something...I'm fishing for more reusable ideas here...

Don't forget tomorrow's the big Sew-Mama-Sew giveaway - so come early and enter often...Good Luck!

  1. I love this. I'd like to learn the Japanese art of gift wrapping, using pretty fabric. I also want to sew up several drawstring totes for gift bags this year. I hope I have time to do this at my in-laws' house!

  2. I never thought of using pillow cases, great idea! This year I was planning on sewing some drawstring bags, but ended up buying a few sets of sheets that were packaged in fabric sacks--bonus! Saved me some sewing. :)

  7. Great idea, have you seen the Green bag grocery challenge? Yours would be a great link for them.

  8. Brilliant! I hate wrapping paper! All that waste, that just goes right into the trash. We use brown paper grocery bags if something needs to be wrapped, then the kids can re-use it for coloring on. We keep all the giftbags ( and tissue!) we receive and re-use that mostly. We do use wrapping paper for the one gift the kids get from Santa, but that's from a stash that's been in the attic for decades.

  9. That is an awesome idea. I usually use the wrapping paper that we have had stored for years. This year I am going to try some fabric and newspaper.

  10. What a great idea!! I'm so sorry I missed this before the holidays but I haven't been reading blogs in weeks due to holiday frenzy. Oh by the way--the snowflake ornaments were beautiful, sad I missed your giveaway and how nice of you to once again share your creativity!!
