...9.21...Over the Weekend...

...I got up super early to grab just a few things at the grocery store...nothing of note...except the vegan chocolate chips..and the Bugles...the Man was just wondering the other day if they still made Bugles...so I looked for some for him...haha...
...then we went over to the Fellowship Hall for the return of the Community Breakfast...this is the first one we've had since February...and it was all social distanced with masks...tape on the floor to show you where to stand and take out only...so different...but then most things are nowadays...

...the turnout was surprisingly good...no one knew quite what to expect...but I think people are ready for just about any attempt to return to normal...
...my vegan bowl of grits and coffee...
...during the breakfast...about 100 vintage cars went by...blowing their horns and waving...so that was fun...the local classic car club had organized a "drive by"...we had planned on having a classic car show at the breakfast...but that's not possible right now...
...Our Airman granduated from his rescue training...
...and received his certificate and a neat coin...
...after the breakfast I did some laundry...we're having PERFECT early fall weather right now...and I love hanging clothes out on the line...
...after that...we headed back over to the Fellowship Hall to set up for a little socially distanced...drop in party...because...
...this little one is about to turn ONE!!!
...we put up some Bee-day decorations...
...she was having a ball with all the activity...
...her Mommy and Daddy had gotten her a ball pit for her birthday...and so we set that up and she enjoyed it...while waiting for people to 'drop by'...
...we set up a Bee-day snack table...with her smash cake...
...and then it was time to open some gifts...you know the paper and wrapping is the most fun part...
...time to FaceTime with Daddy...
...and time for another Bee-day cake...this was the topper from the Airman's Wife's Baby Shower cake...and she'll get it all to herself...
...she's pretty tentative at first...she's not 'supposed to' make a mess with her food you know...
...but pretty soon...she digs right in...
...she says...'have some Grandmommy'...
...all too soon it was time for them to come by the house and say one last goodbye before they flew back to New Mexico...I'm sure Our Airman will be happy to have them home...

~Wishing you a lovely start to your week!...

  1. Congratulations to your son on his recent achievement. Happy Birthday to the little one. She had a bee-u-ti-ful bee-day party. I love the photo where she smashes up her cake while eating. You will miss her until next time.

  2. Oh what fun! That's a sweet idea to save the baby shower cake for the baby's birthday! Glad you got to see them and I know you're missing the Airman! Love, K

And congrats to the airman on his training graduation. So sad to see them go home but what great memories were made and I am sure you will see them all again very soon.
