...11.17...Tuesdays with Julia...

...the recipe we made with Julia was Vegan Beurre Colbert which is a meat flavored butter...pretty easy stuff...but I didn't really have anything to put it on...Julia says it's best on broiled meats and fish...
...so after my successs with the vegan ham made from tvp bits and vital wheat gluten...I decided to try it without grinding the tvp...just leaving the chunks mixed into the seitan...
...I wrapped it tightly in foil and cooked it in a vegan roth...
...then I melted some vegan butter...
...and gave it a nice sear...
...on both sides...
...I also made some vegan potato pancakes...
...so we had the vegan Beurre Colbert with cabbage, carrots, peas, and potato pancakes on top of seitan steaks...
...it was really good...
...melted over the seitan steaks...
