...9.13...Over the Weekend...

...it wasn't a particularly busy weekend...not sure why there are so many pictures...haha...
...Big Sissie's Birthday present got mailed to Japan...
...and we got probably the last of the summer tomatoes...
...we needed to replace the little yard banner again...you can see what it looked like when it was new here...and where the little tab attaches you can see how much it has faded...
...this is the new banner...I know it has the word 'proud' on it...which Our Airman doesn't like...but since this is our third banner and he hasn't yet been in the Air Force for 3 years...it will probably fade and be replaced before he sees it...haha...

...and I thought the little humidity rainbow was a nice effect...
...I'm back to shopping for groceries on InstaCart as it's no longer 'safe' to go to the grocery store as Covid numbers continue to rise here...arghhhh...Jack loves the new smelling bags though...
...nothing really special...but we got several pineapples...because the Man wanted to make pineapple jam...not sure I've ever had pineapple jam...have you?...
...the fan went kerflooey in the Master bathroom...so the Man went online and ordered just the motor part...and it came the same day...from Amazon...that is so crazy to me...I love it though...so the fan was up and working in just a day...
...I love fresh pineapple...so I'm pretty sure I'll love the jam...
...got it all chopped up and in the pot...actually pots...as we made two different versions...
...we sterilized some jars and lids...
...this is the first version made without pectin...it's the Martha Stewart recipe and has just a few ingredients...
...this one is a cooked jam and it darkens the pineapple a little bit...
...still pretty delicious though...
...and next up...was another batch of the Sure-Jell Fresh Pineapple Jam recipe...
...this one only 'cooks' for a minute or so...and that whole bowlful (5 1/2 cups) of sugar goes in...crazy...
...and it turns out nice and fresh and light looking...other than licking the spoon - which was delicious...I've not tried this one...but I'll let you know...

~Wishing you a lovely start to your week!

  1. That was a fun relaxing weekend! The pineapple jam(s) look wonderful. And are you sure that the Airman doesn't peek at your blog now and then? He may see that flag! Love, K
