...1.8...Dinner and a Movie...

...dinner was another take on Christmas dinner...this time with baked tofu..really I just wanted to use up the leftover stuffing/dressing...and I guess I'll just say 'grilled' veggies from now on as I can't really say 'Foreman' grilled veggies anymore...haha...I am getting used to the new grill/griddle though...the grill side is more difficult to use than the griddle side and you have to be careful not to 'char' the veggies if you're using the grill side...

...and that delicious gravy is just almond milk, a little flour and Vegeta...

...I mentioned in my last post that I'm re-reading the James Heriot All Creatures series...so I convinced the Man that we also need to re-watch the original 1980's series...haha...he calls it the "Dog and Pony Show"...hilarious...

...we originally watched these as they aired on PBS...in our early married life...and it really takes me back to watch them again...and it's interesting to see how closely (or not) they follow the actual books...the stories really are jumbled up in the series...and I know there's a new PBS series...another re-make...apparently no one can come up with anything new...and they just keep remaking old movies and shows...haha...

...what have you been watching lately?...

~Have a lovely weekend!

  1. I vaguely remember that series. Sounds sweet. We're watching a crime series - Bosch. It's all right, not earth-shattering. haha. Love, K

  2. we used to watch the original when we were first together as well. The remake on PBS is pretty good as well. He has read the series and I have not...yet!

    1. Hi Karen,
...I'm finishing the 4th book now...and then there's one more in the series...and it's so nostalgic and fun to watch the old series...

  4. I remember reading all the James Herriot books when I was about 13. I stayed with my Nanny for a few days, and kept reading her all the funny bits out loud, she was quite patient with me but finally told me it was time to turn the light out and go to sleep. The remake of the show is pretty much the same as the original, except it is apparent they had a much, much larger budget the second time around.

    1. Hi Bean,
...that was about the age I was when I read them...I was so 'into' horses at the time...and I wanted to be a vet when I grew up...but then I did a little bit of vet work with our country vet...and pretty quickly decided that that was not the job for me...a lot of tragic endings for farm animals...
