...this week...
...we finished painting the Master Bathroom...
...I still need to caulk around the tub...and we've got a neat piece of 'artwork' to hang on the big wall...
...we installed the new toilet...
...a photo of the Palest Pistachio in the natural light...
...we got this neatly packed package in the mail...
...a cute little Water Closet sign...
...for the door...
...Mom gave us her old power washer when she upgraded...you've actually seen me using it before at the parsonage...
...so we got that out and pressure washed the two front porches...
...and then the Man painted the top porch floor...and it looks like new...
...and we tested the gas logs...
...they're old and inefficient... and we're not really happy with them for a lot of reasons...
...so we're probably not going to keep them...we're keeping the fireplace just not the logs...
...so this was the aged state of our fence when we bought the house...
...which is ok...I guess...if you're looking for rustic charm...
...but our house definitely has more 'traditional' about it than 'rustic'...
...my sweet sissie sent us the little solar powered lights...
...aren't they the sweetest...
...and this is a closeup of the weathered fence along the driveway...
...just a few panels...
...so I got out the sprayer...
...and got to work...the difference is amazing...it's just water...no cleaner of any kind...
...it's a really messy job though...and you need goggles and ear protection...
...the next morning...this section of the fence looks like new...
...so time to get some sealant on it...so that it doesn't just turn back to the rustic grey...
...it looks too dark to me when I first put it on...but the Man assures me that it will be lighter once the wood soaks it all up...
...and then...of course it rained...so I tried to drape plastic over the fence and continue painting...
...and that section is done...and I'm really happy with the difference it's made...
....so now it's just a matter of continuing to work around the entire fence...
...so here's a couple of really flattering photos the Man took...
...the progress continues...
...one panel at a time...
...around to the gate...
...now it's time to add the sealant...
...also one panel at a time...it's really tedious with this shadow patterend fence...you baiscally have to reach in between the panels and I'm actually trying NOT to get any stain leaking through to the outside...as this makes quite a change to the appearance of the fence...and the rest of the neighborhood has the rustic grey facing out and we don't want to stand out as different...
...all done with that project...whew!
~Have a lovely day!
