...the kiddos went to the thrift store while they were here...obviously they couldn't buy a bunch of stuff as they'll be flying back to Alaska soon...but they enjoy thrifting and antiquing...so they 'shopped' for other people...and they got me a lovely new purse...which I kindof badly need as my old thirty-one...which I made in this post back in 2019...has definitely seen better days...
...and I already had an orange juice pitcher just like this one...but mine is rather old and faded looking...and they got me this like-new-one with four adorable little glasses...I'll just re-donate the other one...
...and then the only other thing we did was to pull up all of the collards from the winter garden...there were 28 collard plants...so it's an enormous amount of leaves...I'm going to cook the stems too...of course...but we'll see...they're pretty 'woody'...the 'stems' I normally cook from grocery store collards are actually the central ribs of the leaves not the stems that the leaves grew on...
...we completely filled up both sinks with the leaves...
...and even though we tried to be careful not to get them dirty...they were pretty dirty...
...but after three washings I called it good and set the really overstuffed the Instant Pot out on the porch...
...and after it cooked down a bit I put the lid on and pressure cooked the greens...
...and then we did that all over again...and we have about 20 cups of collards in the freezer now...
~Have a lovely day!
