...11.10...Las Vegas...Day 3...

...we stopped to get gas in the rental car...and this is about the cheapest we could find...$3.69...it's around $2.50 back home...so quite a bit more here...

...and our destination for today was White Domes...

...after all the red rock yesterday...

...the scenery here is much lighter...

...we stopped at an abandoned quarry...

...you could see where the stones were cut from the mountain...

...then just more desert scenery...

...it was all absolutely stunning...

...beautiful views everywhere...

...we stopped for lunch...and as sometimes happens the only thing for me was a salad...it was a nice salad though...

...after lunch we headed up into the mountains...

...the tallest mountain here is Mt. Charleston...

...and we drove up into the trees...to where the road ends...

...more mountain beauty...

...driving back down the canyon...

...after our sightseeing for today...we went over to the base for a run...

...dinner was tofu grilled out on the patio...fresh corn (mine was off the cob...tmj) and broccoli...

...after dinner...we played several games of pool...that was fun...
