...for dinner we cooked the corn on the cob from the neighborhood veg stand...the Man actually eats his on the cob and I almost always cut mine off to prevent any tmj issues for me...and we had sweet potatoes...the Man's baked and sliced with butter...and mine Griddlered...so good...with Brussels sprouts and baked tofu...and a chocolate protein shake just for a protein boost and because it's delicious...
...the 'movie' was a whole entire episode of Firefly...and I emphasize the entire...because it's actually a pretty stressful (for me) show and so I'd rather watch it in 10 to 15 minute increments...haha...after watching the ending of course...
...the Jayne character doesn't have his hat yet...so I'm still looking forward to seeing that episode...
...and Mom is always asking what I'm reading and I realized that I'd not done an update on that in a while...I have been reading a lot though...
Birdsong - Sebastian Faulks
Captain Corelli's Mandolin - Louis De Bernieres
...a couple of 'war' books...
The Woman in White - Wilkie Collins...a book by a friend and collaborator with my fave Dickens...this one was touted as a 'ghost story'...but it wasn't at all...more of a pretty tame gothic thriller with lots of twists and turns...but the woman in white is an actual person that's part of the mystery...
Atonement - Ian McEwan...a story about the consequences of a child's actions...
Cold Comfort Farm - Stella Gibbons...a really funny one...
...and since I had read The Secret History by Donna Tartt and really liked her writing style I put a hold on her next novel The Little Friend...and I finally got it from the library so that's what I'm currently reading...it's really good...about a child interacting with some adults...good ones and bad ones...so a book about some people...this one would have been a great book club book too...
...what have you been watching...and reading lately?...
~Have a lovely weekend!
