Lutheran World Relief Quilt #7 - and a blessing

It's been such a busy day - sorry this post is so late - thanks so much for all the quilt and Vegan Egg love...

I managed to finish one more quilt for Lutheran World Relief - this one was all polyester as well - and it sort of makes my eyes flash...or something weird like that...I hope it doesn't bother it's recipient that way...

I've had several people ask me where the quilts go:

The quilts go all over the world - we have a sweet video of a quilt that was made in a church basement in Minnesota and followed all through the process - until it reaches it's recipient in Africa - a Mom with 5 children living in an abandoned railroad car...can you imagine...

I got this list from the website of where the quilts went - and it says that 25000 went to Mozambique...

AFGHANISTAN
AZERBAIJAN
CHINA
ERITREA
LATVIA
MALI
MAURITIANIA
MOZAMBIQUE
NIGER
NORTH KOREA
PERU
PHILIPPINES
SAO TOME AND PRINCIPE
SIERRA LEONE
THAILAND

Our quilts were blessed at church today - it was so fun to see them hanging over all the pews...

...the school kits, health kits, and layettes were blessed today too...

...we'll meet tomorrow evening to put everything in boxes and send it on it's way - it really is fun to be a part of this process and helping people is always fun...

  2. It is such a delight to see all the hand made goods being blessed this way. Having been to the rural parts of Africa and inside the village huts and houses, I can tell you that these items will be truly treasured wherever they end up. Thank you to all your ladies for this wonderful generosity of time and skill. May you all continue to be blessed.
