...and they were good sort of cracker-like chips...
...this time I thought I'd try a different approach...so I made a batch of our favorite Nacho dip...I couldn't find a link to the exact one that I used...and I don't want to break any internet rules and post a copyrighted recipe...so I'm just giving you a link to one that is very similar to the one we used...
Vegan Nacho Dip
...then I just cut some corn tortillas into triangles and then dipped them into the sauce....placed them on the dehydrator and left them for a couple of hours...
...I wound up with some super crispy nacho chips...
...this was such a good idea...

I have a dehydrator I've inherited from mom but haven't used it yet. I think she may have used it once to make fruit roll ups or something. The dorito chips you are making look good and I'll have to give it a try some time.
ReplyDeletewhat a cool idea! love, k
ReplyDeleteThat's amazing! I'm going to have to make a batch of these this weekend! Love the idea of a snack chip that's not fried! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteHave you ever tried any of the dairy free "cheeses"? I've been wanting to
ReplyDeletetry some. Maybe you can recommend a brand for me?

ReplyDeleteHi Emily,
I think I've tried every vegan cheese out there and some are definitely better than others...if you want a melty 'cheese' - I'd go with Daiya..and it's very good on pizza...I like Sheese too...but I think I like the cheeses that I make just as well...I've made cheese balls and pepper jack and a really good vegan goat cheese...I hope that helps...
Have a lovely day!
