...VegFest 2019...

...I had never been to a VegFest before...so I didn't really know what to expect...but we got up early Saturday and headed to the convention center...got parked...it was a nice late summer day...and the trees are just starting to change colours...
...and followed the signs...
...I thought we were getting there pretty early...10:20 for an 11:00 start...and there was already quite a queue snaking around from the entrance...so we got in line...and started chatting with the people near us...vegans are so nice...you know...
...we called this guy 'grape man'...he had a bullhorn and entertained us while we were waiting...
...the line grew and grew...who knew there were so many vegans...
...promptly at 11:00 they let us in...
...we picked up our goodie bags...and headed up the aisles...
...I got to try Oatly at this farmers market stand...it was really good...I'm anxious to see it in the stores...
...VEGAN DOUGHNUTS...
...which one to choose...
...I went for the classic chocolate...and it was delicious...
...then we just wandered around...trying little samples at all of the booths...
...the Food Court...everything smelled so good...but I was pretty full up of doughnut...and samples...haha...
...there was more food outside...
...and more booths too...and activities for the children...we really had a lot of fun...I'll make sure we come back again next year...
...these were the only other things that I bought...NoNos are like M & M's only vegan of course...and who knew that they made a vegan Stroopwaffel...I can't wait to let that get all steamy over my tea...
...this was my adorable goody bag...
...and this is what was inside...amazing...

...so...have you ever been to a VegFest?...

~Wishing you a lovely start to your week!

  1. I went to my first veg fest last fall, it was pretty much the same as the one you visited. I am not sure I would go to another, I tend to eat a whole food plant based vegan diet and am not into vegan processed foods and snacks.
However, I am happy to see that a plant based way of eating is becoming more and more popular and there definitely are many people curious about a vegan or vegetarian diet. I am concerned that some who are not vegan may visit a veg fest and leave with the opinion that we don't eat meat and dairy, but instead live on a multitude of heavily processed vegan food, and that is not a good message.

  3. It looks a lot of fun and no, I haven't been to one. I know there are a lot of them so I must make the effort to seek one out.
