...9.19...Over the Weekend...

...bright and early Saturday morning...we headed over to the Church for another very successful Car Show...it was a day jam packed with fun...
...I wandered around with the Man admiring all of the old cars...and chatting with the owners and hearing all of the stories...and the Man finally decided on the "Best in Show" at the last minute...he kept going back and forth between two...ignoring my suggestions that the 1973 VEGA should win...hahahaha...
...so I did a late afternoon shop...
...I don't think there's anyting interesting at all...and we're not planning any big 'theme' meals this week...we were out of flour and cornmeal...and I needed some new clothespins...
...and I needed a sympathy card...and I buy most of my cards at the Dollar Store...and y'all know that I love purple...and they happened to have these child sized shorts in purple...and they looked like they would fit a little birthday girl that I know...so I got them...$1.25...
...and then they also had this shirt...also a shade of purple...so I thought...why not...anothe $1.25...the tag is cut...so I was thinking they might be seconds...but I can't find anything at all wrong with it...it makes a cute little purple size 4 play outfit...dontchyathink...?
...and you know how my mind works...I have a mental catalogue of everything in my stash...HA!...and I immediately thought of this slinky stretchy material...I actually thought it had some of the darker colour of purple in it...but still...
...it looks ok with the purple shorts...so I was thinking a twirly slinky skirt over the shorts would be a fun play outfit as well...
...and it may have time to get all the way to Japan before her party next weekend...so I whipped it right up...
...it's not quite a full circle...but pretty twirly just the same...
...and super cute over the shorts and topped with the little tee too...
...and I got a couple of adorable little sidewalk chalks and sent those along too...
...so then the day was pretty much over...and before we went to bed...I put some soybeans on the counter to soak overnight...because I wanted to make some silken tofu again...
...so after Church...I rubbed as many of the skins off as I could...it was a lot...haha...
...and then I blended it up...and hung it in the nut milk bag...
...chilled it quickly in some ice water...
...it was still a little bit foamy...so I skimmed it off and made a latte with the Man's leftover coffee...
...added the epsom salts...
...and divieed it up into cups...
...it made a lot...
...so I put it into two pots to steam...
...then when it was done...I whizzed it up in the Emmie with some cocoa and sugar...
...to make my favorite tofu pudding...
...and finally...again...I had some potatoes that were starting to sprout...so I made us some chips to use those up...

~Wishing you a lovely start to your week!
