...I thought I'd give you a glimpse of the square foot garden again as we are now in the middle of our hot Hot HOT southern summer...
...the spinach even though it's on the back porch with the other tender greens is really struggling...this is the small handful of spinach that I picked to top our salads...the buttercrunch lettuce however seems to be doing fine...and I'll be planting that again soon to transplant to the 'winter' garden...it did really well over the winter last year...
...the cow peas along the long edge of the fence are doing well...we think...
...they are producing a bunch of beans/pods...but the beans in them are very small...so we'll wait and see...
...the Rutger tomatoes are still doing well...no blossom end rot nor any more catepillars...
...the two yellow squash plants are doing just OK I'd say...
...we get a couple of squash a week...I'm thinking of planting another square foot with a squash plant this weekend and we'll see if we get a harvest before frost...
...still getting a good sized handful of green beans a day...so we cook them every three to four days...just as a nice fresh side dish for dinner...
...on the flower front...the lilies are having a hard time...these lemon ones are the only ones blooming right now...and you can see the miniature rose also blooming in the background...it smells so nice...
...Mom's leftover-from-lasat-year hanging basket is looking particularly beautiful right now...
...and the gardenias are blooming...and what a delicious smell that is wafting up onto the porch...
...and the purple cone flower is surving the heat as well...
...what's blooming where you are?...
~Have a lovely weekend!...

Thanks for the tour. Last time I grew squash years ago, mine weren’t producing. I solved it by taking a small artist brush out in the mornings when the blossoms were open and hand pollinating them. Might be worth a try. Love, K
