...well after we traveled to the Man's uncle's a few weeks ago on I-95...we were right back on it again...
...crossing the James River...
...after about 6 1/2 hours...arriving in Richmond...
...the Jefferson Hotel...
...the lobby is absolutely gorgeous...
...the grand staircase...the sign actually says no photos from the top of the stairs...which is really just to prevent people from turing around and taking selfies there...that's dangerous...
...another stunning skylight...
...the staircase from below...
...there was a historical room with all of these display cases...I've left them large in case you want to zoom in...
...the hotel is a historic landmark....
...it opened in 1895...
...there is a popular rumor that this is the staircase in Gone with the Wind...but that one was just a hollywood creation...
...there were two big fires...
...the first in 1901...
...anyway...it's a beautiful building...
...a lot of the streets are paved with bricks...
...the Jefferson sits on top of the hill...
...just walking around outside...there's lots of intersting architecture...
...more brick streets...partially paved...
...and more neat buildings...
...there's pretty detail at the top of this one...
...and three different crazy pavings...
...of course there was also lots of delicious food...I'll roll that all into one post later in the week...
~Have a lovely day!

Looks like a beautiful city - we've never actually been there other than to drive thru on our way somewhere else! Love, K
