...8.2...Dinner and a Movie...

...I was chatting with my sweet Sissie the other day and I mentioned that we were playing Mahjong...and she was surprised because she hadn't seen it on the ol' blog...we even searched for it because it does seem like something I would have alluded to...haha...
...so...the Man and I are learning to play the Chinese version of Mahjong...it's actually a 4 person game...but we don't have four people so we just play it with us two...it's a lot of fun...and not too complicated...I've read that the Japanese and American versions are much more difficult...even so...we keep running into situations that we have to search the interwebs for the answer...

...we play one game most evenings...
...and for dinner...we had cubed-baked tofu in a gravy simply made with soymilk, flour and a little bit of vegan chick'n broth...super easy...and we also had green beans from the garden...a sliced tomato and a salad...I guess I was too quick with the photo for them to be included...

...and the movie was another old Hitchcock thriller...Rope...I'd never seen it...or even heard of it...it was good and suspenseful... a lot of character development all filmed in one room...

...what have you been watching lately?...

~Have a lovely day!

  1. Just out of curiosity, what piqued your interest in Mah Jong enough to learn how to play it? In my first restaurant job my Chinese boss and restaurant owner would come to work every day all bleary eyed from playing Mah Jong all night. I don't think I've heard of or seen the movie, Rope yet so I'll try and find it on line somewhere. One limited series I recently enjoyed is called "Untamed" and on Netflix. It's filmed mostly in locations close to where I live. The scenery is spectacular is a substitute for Yosemite.
