We have one small crabapple tree in the back yard - and the crabapples are ripe...
...so Scout got the ladder out...
...and started picking...
...and then when the picking seemed to be going too slowly or he couldn't reach an apple even from the top of the ladder - he got out the spring rake and whacked the tree to get some more apples...
...one of Mamaw's pretty baskets holds the pretty harvest...
nice - i'm assuming we'll see some crab-apple jelly soon!
ReplyDeletewe're on a break from our seminar now and i thought i'd grab a peek. they have wireless in the building here, but i swear i think it must be hooked to dial-up. the slowest wireless i've ever seen - the photos "peel" down as they're loading. oh well, it's free!
this afternoon, they're demonstrating using "pyrotechnics" to scare off pests....should be fun - mostly a bunch of grown men shooting off fireworks, i expect!!
