Science Museum

We spent a day at The Science Museum of Minnesota - it's in St. Paul and we had to take a city bus to get there - everyone was so helpful when we asked for directions...
...some riverboats behind the museum...
...we saw the Titanic exhibit - these stairs played a chime with each step - so much fun - we could have played here for hours - we had seen this exhibit in Columbia SC a few years ago - and Scout was looking forward to trying to avoid the iceberg again - but they didn't have that part of the exhibit - we got boarding passes when we 'boarded' and found out at the end of the tour whether we lived or not (I was a 21 year old 2nd class female - I survived - Scout was a 48 year old 3rd class male - he was so disappointed that he did not survive) - no photos allowed here either - what's up with that???
...happily photographs were allowed everywhere else in the 4 story museum - here Scout examines some pond critters with a microscope...
...and this is an elaborate 'Lab' - Scout donned a white lab coat, goggles and gloves...
...and Scout is extracting DNA strands...
...playing with clouds...
...creating a working circuit...
...making a graphic postcard using two pendula...
...and finally back outside panning for gemstones - it reminded me of the Gem Mine we went to a couple of years ago on vacation - Scout didn't find any spectacular stones this time - but it was still a lot of fun - the whole day was!
