...Exploring W.V. ...Hawk's Nest...

...we left Horse Creek and drove south and then east...on our way to Babcock State Park...but on our way there we drove right past Hawk's Nest...so of course we had to stop...
...this cute little stone turret houses the restrooms...
...I always enjoy reading the informational signs...
...isn't it a shame to have to have such a disaster for someone to realize what should have been common sense...
...the pretty trail...not too long...and not too steep...
...and the pretty view...
...the frightening looking 'safety net' in case you fall over the edge...
...the curve of the New River...
...some pretty cliffs in the distance...
...a train trestle crossing the river...
...the views were just breathtaking...we had a lot of fun there...and then it was on to the next stop...

~Have a lovely day!

  1. Beautiful pictures! I especially like the one of the mountain road with fallen leaves on it. So pretty! Reminds me of fall!

  2. What a spectacular view. The only thing I had trouble with when we visited that part of the country was that I felt I could never get a very expansive perspective. I see now that I just needed to go to the right places

  3. Gorgeous place. I know what you mean about tragedy and common sense. It seems things keep happening over and over. Sigh.
