...a super easy (one evening project) ear warmer headband...

...so continuing with my handmade gifts for my bookclub friends...
...I made a headband/ear warmer in one evening...
...this is another super easy project...easy to complete in a couple of hours...
...so it's perfect for my last minute gifting...
...I really liked the way it turned out...super warm and cozy and cute...

Super Simple Ear Warmer/Headband Pattern


SIZE

One Size

MATERIALS

Worsted Weight Yarn

Recommended needle size:

1 set US #13
1 size J crochet hook.

GAUGE


10 st in Stockinette Stitch = 3 in.

DIRECTIONS


Using size 13 needles and two strands of yarn held together throughout, cast on 5 stitches .
Knit in stockinette stitch (knit one row - purl one row) for 4 rows.
Increase one stitch each end of next row. (7 sts)
Knit in stockinette stitch (knit one row - purl one row) for 4 rows.
Increase one stitch each end of next row. (9 sts)
Knit in stockinette stitch (knit one row - purl one row) for 4 rows.
Increase one stitch each end of next row. (11 sts)
Knit in stockinette stitch (knit one row - purl one row) for 4 rows.
Increase one stitch each end of next row. (13 sts)
Knit in stockinette stitch (knit one row - purl one row) for 4 rows.
Increase one stitch each end of next row. (15 sts)
Knit in stockinette stitch (knit one row - purl one row) for 4 rows.
Increase one stitch each end of next row. (17 sts)
Continue in stockinette stitch for 24 rows.
Decrease one stitch each end of next row. (15 sts)
Knit in stockinette stitch (knit one row - purl one row) for 4 rows.
Decrease one stitch each end of next row. (13 sts)
Knit in stockinette stitch (knit one row - purl one row) for 4 rows.
Decrease one stitch each end of next row. (11 sts)
Knit in stockinette stitch (knit one row - purl one row) for 4 rows.
Decrease one stitch each end of next row. (9 sts)
Knit in stockinette stitch (knit one row - purl one row) for 4 rows.
Decrease one stitch each end of next row. (7 sts)
Knit in stockinette stitch (knit one row - purl one row) for 4 rows.
Decrease one stitch each end of next row. (5 sts)

Cast off 4 stitches then with the last loop switch to size J crochet hook and single crochet back across the cast off stitches. Chain 7 and join to form a loop at the end of the headband. Continue to single crochet all the way around the headband including around the chain loop. Join and weave in the end.

...then I made a little flower...in a contrasting colour...like my little Camp Wilderness flowers from a few years ago...no real pattern...

...I also made a Sculpey button like I did before...you could of course buy a button...
...I painted it blue to match the ear warmer...
...and dotted it green using a pencil eraser...
