...what to do when the frame quite doesn't fit... of the things that I wanted to give the Man for Christmas...was a frame for this poster that was given to him by the Bishop...
...but of course it's not a standard I bought the closest size... had waited too late to get a custom frame before Christmas...

...and you can see here that the cardboard that came in the frame is about a half inch too wide on each side... I just took some craft paint and painted the liner black...
...and now you can't tell that the frame doesn't quite fit...
...hanging in his office...

...a reminder that...

'Silence in the face of evil is itself evil: God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act.' - Dietrich Bonhoeffer

~Have a lovely day!

  1. Very nicely done! Bonhoeffer is a favorite, just bought a biography and intend to read it next month.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Teresa.

  2. You see, it just needed some thought and ingenuity!

  3. You might know this but interesting just the same.

About Dietrich Bonhoeffer and his statue at Westminster Abbey.

  4. That is a marvellous quote and I've heard variations of it so some people do believe the same.

I also love your resourcefulness and ingenuity. The mounted poster looks great on the wall.

    Happy holidays. xx

  5. Hey. I could have sworn that I left a message already! I said that it was interesting that once again we were using black paint at the same time Have a great week! Love. K
