...10.16...Dinner and a Movie...

...we've had our first chilly fall days...finally...
...so you know that calls for a nice comforting...warm bowl of soup...so I made some cornbread muffins...
...and the Man made a big pot of vegetable soup...and I made us some grilled cheese sammies to go with it...it was a perfect dinner...

...not sure why we were talking about it...but I mentionned in passing that the Von Trapp family of The Sound of Music were real people and that it was based on a true story...an interesting article about some of the differences in real life and the movie...

...I do love the movie The Sound of Music...and even though it wasn't my 'turn' to choose...I 'chose' it for the Man...because I think there's a huge gap in his filmography...haha...

...so we watched the version on Prime that has about 45 minutes of interview with Julie Andrews at the end...where she basically tours around Salzburg and interviews people involved with the film...etc...and although she met the real Maria there's only a short clip about that...and nothing about the many differences in the film and real life...except to say that they were married at the convent...and not in the big church...

...what have you been watching lately?...

~Have a lovely weekend!

  1. I haven't watched the Sound of Music in 40+ years. Might have to watch it just for fun. We're still watching the Ken Burns movies/episodes. Last night we watched the one about the foundations of radio. (Finally got thru the Civil War ones - a history lesson every night!) Love, K

  2. This dinner is perfect! Totally comfort food! It's cold and rainy up here so this is a perfect match!

Watching the 3rd season of "sex education" on Netflix. Asa Butterfield is so good!
