...1.3...Japan...Day FOUR...

...lots and lots of photos today...
...first we checked out of the posh LeQu...and headed to Our Airman's base...
...and their sweet abode...
...they've got an ocean view...and a playground right across the street...
...and these gorgeous tropical trees in their front yard...
...and we had several hours before we could check into our AirBnb...so we headed to this nearby beach...
...Big Sissie immediately wanted to build a sandcastle...and I do mean immediately...
...beachcombing with the kiddos...
...trying a sandcastle again...sadly, it's not that kind of sand...
...it's a warm and overcast day...but it's a beautiful place...
...not secluded but we had the beach all to ourselves...
...but we headed up the path...because...
...not far from the beach was the entrance to some caves...
...echo-y hollowed out stone...
...and a path down to the shoreline...
...and peephole views of the sea...
...so peaceful and shadowy...
...and pretty rugged terrain...where the sea is working it's erosion of stone...
...a little swordfight with Papa...
...a photo with me in it...ha...
...back out of the shadows and onto the pathway...we followed these stairs...
...to some more beautiful vistas...
...a Pacific view...
...these photos are kind of deceptive...we're about halfway up a cliff and a pretty sheer dropoff down to the beach...
...with this cliff extending 50 feet or so above us and the rock we're standing on dropping of 50 or 60 feet back to sea level...
...up another flight of stairs there is a war memorial...
...we have an app that can translate these on our phone...
...a little bit further along the path was this sanskrit monument... ...oddly this one had English translations and the war one did not...
...a view up the river...
...and out to sea...
...back down the hill to the playground...
...and these awesome concrete slides...
...and a regular playground...
...with slides for the little ones...
...and lots more sand...
...we're building 'princess castles'...
...helping Sissie...
...after a stop here...haha...they had similar public toilets in France too...
...we got a refreshing drink at a vending machine...it was delicious...there are vending machines EVERYWHERE...
...then we stopped for Ramen at the kiddos favorite Ramen place...
...back home with our Ramen...
...I did not get Ramen as there weren't any vegan options...but don't worry...I didn't go hungry...haha...

..also...Big Sissie absolutely loves 'helping' me pop the edamame out of their shells...not eating them...just popping them...so cute...
...and then it was time to check into our AirBnb...
...I'll give you a quick tour...it's a standalone house...and this is the outside...with it's parking spot...
...and the Shisa protecting it...
...on the first floor...a big living/dining/kitchen open floor plan room...
...behind that...through the sliding doors is the 'traditional Japanese bedroom'...more on that in a bit...
..the gorgeous Japanese dishes...they are so pretty...
...the kitchen...
...the super fancy four tiered fridge...you can basically keep anything at any temperature you choose...
...our bedroom upstairs...it must be a funny camera angle because that's a queen sized bed...and it just looks small in the photo for some reason...
...the kiddos bedroom...also upstairs...and pretty much the exact same as ours...
...and the tatami room will be perfect for the little ones...
...those chairs fold out and there are futons and covers in the cupboard...we probably won't be taking them down and setting them up every day...but just leave them like this for when the kiddos stay over...we had on purpose gotten a three bedroom house so they could come and visit whenever they wanted...
...and again the 'bathroom...is actually three separate rooms...this one we call the 'washroom' as it has a sink and mirror and the washer and dryer...the toilet is in a completely separate room...
...and then the actual 'bath' part of the room...with the separate shower area and the super deep soaking tub...

...so that's pretty much it for the house...we love it...it has a nice vintage Japanese feel to it...probably built in the late 40s or 50s judging just by the pink tiled bathroom and all of the bakelite fixtures...
...after we got checked in...we went to the commissary to get some groceries...a lot of groceries...
...then back to their house for some playtime...they are puppy-sitting for a bit...so Our Airman's Wife is running around with two squealing/laughing girls one on each hip...while the puppy runs along jumping and barking...so much fun...
...Our Airman definitely got his Papa's cooking gene...and he prepared dinner for us...
...a super delicious potato soup...
...then we just had time for some dress up before bed...

~Have a lovely day!
