...7.11...Richmond...Vegan Food...

...I ate a LOT!...these pictures should be in order-eaten...haha...
...on the drive up we stopped at Jersey Mikes for a delicious veggie sub...not sure why it's sideways...
...dinner after checking in at a pizzeria not too far from the hotel...a delightful blood orange salad...
...and a vegan pizza...not a lot of flavor...so thank goodness for the capers...the crust was outstanding though...
...hotel breakfast...you'll see a version of this every day...I did love the seasoned potatoes with peppers and onions...and lots of fresh fruit...so you'll see that on repeat...
...conference lunch...I'd ordered a veggie sammie...
...and it was so surprisingly tasty...there was curried cauliflower in there too...
...dinner out...there was vegan steak on the menu...so despite the shocking pricetag...I had to try it...
...salad first...and I'm drinking a mango aqua fresca that was recommended by our server...
...and the entrée did not disappoint...I'm sure it also had about 1000 calories...
...good thing they had a nice light dessert...
...another day...another hotel breakfast...just with the addition of oatmeal and toast this time...
...conference lunch...after yesterday's delicious sammie...this veggie burger was less than stellar...
...dinner out again...fried broccoli...and the chef made a vegan aoli for dipping...it was scrumptious...
...and there were no vegan options on the menu...so the chef...again...just improvised by taking the duck out of a duck dish...this one had an asian flair and eggplant, peppers, peas and a sauce that was a little bit spicy...served over a couple of fried rice cakes...it was a pretty enjoyable dish...
...and for dessert...a trio of sorbets...lichee, kiwi and lemon-lime...quite delectable and just the thing after the spicy entrée...
...the final hotel breakfast...same/same...just with granola this time...
...this was the drive home day...and we stopped at Buc-ees...I'd never been to one before...but it is an experience for sure...and one we're not likely to repeat...there were about 1000 people in there...and it was loud and crazy...and about 30 people in each checkout line...
...I had looked up vegan at Buc-ees and found several things...nuggets, mango, peanuts, a protein bar and a tub of watermelon...

...I tried not to use the word delicious 20 times haha...

~Have a lovely day!

  1. Fun food! And wow, that price tag on the vegan steak was sky-high! Glad it was good. I've never been to a Buc-ees either....aren't we country bumpkins? Love K
