...7.7...Over the Weekend...

...we started the day early with vegan pancakes...

...and vegan sausage...we needed to carb up for the task ahead...

...and we needed to get an early start...heat index today is supposed to reach 112° F (44° C)...and the bushes have bushed...haha...

...it's already steamy at 7:30...our trimmer is electric and doesn't make a lot of noise...I think most of the neighbors are already up though...

...the donut shaped one around the maple tree is the big one...both of these front facing ones are loropetalum - Carolina Midnight...

...halfway...

...you can see that this one is no longer in the shade...

...finished...I'll come back tomorrow and trim any sprigs that pop up...a few always do if they were hemmed in by other branches that got trimmed...

...all done...and there's no shade anywhere now...

...so we took COOL showers and headed to the grocery store...barely opening the garage door to drop the bags inside because it's so hot...

...not much of note...watermelon and canteloupe on repeat...they're relatively cheap right now...

...homemade cream soda...a can of sparkling water...a pinch of stevia...and a teaspoonful of vanilla...so delicious...

...on the food prep front...I made croutons...

...and Toby's...of course...

...so delicious...I don't know where it was all these years...but I was missing out for sure...

...a smaller batch of green beans from the garden...it's just too too hot for anything to produce very much...

...and since we're leaving for a conference in Richmond, VA...I used up last week's bananas...(and bought really green ones this week)...

...to make our favorite banana bread...in the outside oven of course...
