...10.13...Over the Weekend...

...we started off the weekend with pancakes...
...YUM!...
...then we headed out and got the shopping done...
...we got everything to make the Man's Chow Mein again...
...then we headed outside to finish up the trimming of the bushes...
...it really didn't take that long...
...while we were out we got 8 bales of pine straw...thanks to Mom who gave the Man a Lowe's gift card for his birthday...we put them each in a garbage bag so that they wouldn't make a mess in the car...and that was successful...
...so we got that all out underneath the newly trimmed bushes...and everything looks ship shape now...
...and then in the back yard...I had coiled up the old edging from along the driveway in a bucket...
...so I got that out...and nailed it in place along the inside of the sidewalk as planned...using the long plastic spikes that came with the edging...I had pulled those up as well...
...and while I was at it...I pulled out all of the dead leaves from the lillies...
...so that area is also looking more ship shape...
...it just needs some fresh mulch to be ready for the winter...
...a pretty colourful leaf floated down onto the sidewalk...a harbinger of fall...
...and then we used the piece of leftover metal edging from the driveway to replace the shorter rubber one that we'd initially put around the mailbox...we just divided it into 4 lengths...so it made a 26" square...
...it looks pretty neat...but it will look nicer once I get some flowers planted around it...
...in the Master bedroom...the Man painted the ceiling with Sherwin Williams new super white paint base SW 7007 Ceiling Bright White...
...I was trying to capture the difference between the existing and new paint...
...the new paint is to the left...
...it really only took about 1/2 hour to paint the entire tray ceiling with the large paint bucket...we still have to finish all the cutting in on the other two walls...and then it will be simple to just roll the walls with the big paint roller too...
...in the garden it was time to pull up the late season bush beans...
...so we did that...the fence looks bare now...
...there were just a handful of beans left...
...so we added them to the bag we already had collected in the fridge...
...and then into a pot in the outdoor kitchen...
...back out in the garden...the transplanted lettuce is doing ok still...
...so I harvested a bowlful of lettuce...
...and then I also harvested the outer leaves of the newly transplanted Napa cabbage...
...in other food prep news...we had some wrinkly looking Gala apples...so we cut those all up...
...and made a pot of applesauce...
...and I used a block of tofu to make some tofu chocolate pudding...
...and another one to make some tofu strawberry yogurt...
...so I think we're all set for the coming week...
...and this is the last bowl of garden fresh green beans for this year...

~Wishing you a lovely start to your week!
