...progress continues on the Yoga Wrap Sweater...
...I've just cast off for the underarm...and now a few decrease rows and then back to straight stockinette for the remainder of the back...
...on Ravelry...several people's projects mentionned casting off for a sloped shoulder instead of the straight across cast off in the pattern...so I may do that...
...what's in your workbasket?...

...6.29...Tuesdays with Julia...
...so after sissie left...I did make it back into the kitchen...and we made another of Julia's vegan quiches...
...and served it with lots of veggies...
...I had bought the endive specifically for this recipe...and I wasn't sure how it would be...because I don't usually think of endive as something you cook...it's more of a salad ingredient to me...but it was really delicious...
...and all of the particulars are over at The Vegan Version...

...6.29...Tuesday with Sissie...
...my sweet sissie had let us know over the weekend that she'd be able to come for a visit...so I did the tinyest amount of prep before she came...I made the ingredients for a big pasta salad...
...and my favorite Tunisian bread...because I was determined to get the oil and balsamic out for her visit that I forgot when Mom was here earlier...haha...
...bread rising...
...and I took it out of the oven right as she walked in the door...
...and then I just added a fresh cucumber and some bottled Italian dressing and the salad was done...
...and I was really bad about taking photos...this one of us sitting down to eat dinner is the only one I took...because I was too busy talking apparently...I think maybe sissie will post some on her blog...McCraw Sails...as we really just spent all of our time together talking...just meandering through random topics...the way you do with people you know so well...
...and this is my plate of vegan deliciousness...sissie brought the asparagus...and the Man grilled the tofu...it was as delicious as the company...
...and then breakfast this morning was some blueberry muffins and fresh blueberries...and coffee...
...so glad to see my sissie...
~Have a lovely day!
ps...I may come back later and do a Julia post...we'll see...

...6.28...Over the Weekend...
Happy Monday morning to you!
...over the weekend...I was invited back here...to pick as many berries (black and blue) as I wanted...
...so I donned a hat...and long sleeves...grabbed a bucket and lined it with two plastic grocery bags...and started picking...
...we picked a bucketful of big-fat-juicy-perfectly-ripe blackberries first...and by 'we'...I mean that the gentleman who owns the berries came out and picked with me...so we filled up the bucket doubletime...
...and then we did the same with the blueberries...and what I didn't eat on the spot definitely ended up in the bucket...(I ate a lot)...how often do you get to eat organic berries right off the bush...
...and then...he wouldn't let me leave without another bag of squash...
...and one also of cucumbers...
...WOW...so this is what I came home with...
...a whole grocery bag of blueberries...
...and another one of blackberries...
...which I just washed...or rinsed...as they're organic...they don't need a lot of prep...
...bagged up two gallon bags...and used my high tech - straw in the corner - air extraction vacuum method...haha...and put those in the freezer...we're probably just going to eat all of the blueberries fresh...
...then I did a fairly small grocery store run...not much of interest...but they had the bags of rice 3 for 1$ again...and I told you wrong last time...they're not one pound bags...they're two pound bags...so we're pretty well stocked for regular white rice now...haha...
...let's see...what else did I accomplish this weekend...well...those white crocheted shoes that I crocheted a new back strap for...were in a bad need of a good cleaning...so I mixed up some OxyClean and detergent and scrubbed them well with an old toothbrush...
...I had read somewhere that the absolute worst thing for cheap shoes is to get them wet...and remembering that I only paid $1 for them...several years ago...here they are clean but still wet...
...so I dried them as much as I could and then set them over an AC vent...and they were completely dry by morning...I put them on and wore them around the house for a bit...and they haven't fallen apart yet...so hopefully they've survived being cleaned...
....oh...I forgot to mention that I got the first fresh peaches of the year...just grocery store ones...but still...so I dunked them in some boiling water...
...and peeled them...it always amazes me how easily the skin slips off like this...
...they certainly look nice and juicy and sweet...
...but a couple of bites tells me that they still need a little bit of sweetness...so I sliced them and put them in a bowl and sprinkled a little bit of sugar on top...
...and finally...our Outdoor Sexton came and put up a brand new clothesline...
...and I've already used it...twice...it's so nice...
...and Callie always trips around me while I'm outside...she's such a sweetie...look at that face...

...6.26...Dinner and a Movie...
...I made some fresh crinkle cut fries...here they are 'chillin'...getting ready for their second crispi-fying dunk in the oil...
...made some fixin's...
...second fry and you have perfect homemade crinkle cut fries...
...grilled veggie burger...homemade pickles...and fries...
...dessert for me was watermelon...and cake for the Man...he doesn't like watermelon...
...and for the movie we finished watching the lighthearted comedy The Café...it was very sweet...and I'm kind of sorry it's over...
...what have you been watching lately?...

...6.25...Friday Favorites...
...it goes without saying that my bicycle is one of my favorite things...
...but I recently extended my daily ride time and found that just an extra ten minutes in the seat made me wish I had a little more padding... ...and actually Éphée mentioned when I made the bicycle seat cover that I should add some padding...so I'm going to take her advice now...
...and in the stash...there was this piece of foam...I think it was the lining to a fruit shipment in ND...so it's been there for a while...and it looks like I've cut a shoe pad of some sort out of it already...haha... ...it's pretty thin...but I managed to get three tracings of my seat out of it...and I just stacked them one on top of the other... ...put the seat cover back in place... ...and stitched it on...it still fits easily...so YAY!... ...and back on the bike...

...6.24...What I Ate in a Day...as a Vegan...
...for breakfast...I had half an everything bagel with Violife cream cheese...and I had almost eaten the whole thing before I remembered to take a picture...and I had tea...of course...
...lunch was a delicious grilled tofu sandwich...just with lettuce, (boughten) tomato and Zesty Italian dressing...I'm still looking forward to the first fresh homegrown tomatoes of the season...really...really looking forward to it...
...and then this may look like a second lunch...but it was really just an afternoon 'snack' of some leftovers...asparagus, tofu and cauliflower...and tea...
...then for dinner...the Man made a big pot of chili...
...and we had some fresh corn on the cob with that...it was ok...store-bought...and sweet...but a little bit too starchy and tough...also looking forward to the first homegrown corn of the season...
...and on the TV tray with some cornbread and tea...
...I think I also ate an apple at some point...but didn't photograph that...
...what did you eat yesterday?...
