...first I'll share a little bit of Christmas...'cause my fam might like to see that...
...the stockings were filled so full that they couldn't remain hanging...
...and Santa left a bunch of gold wrapped pressies...
...which the kiddos tore into right away...
...the furry ones were oh-so-curious about everything...
...playing and seeking a lot of attention...
...but finally giving up completely...
...meanwhile...in the kitchen...ham seitan was steaming...
...and rolls were rising...
...just finished steaming...the WHam doesn't look all that wonderful...
...but...flipped over...
...and scored...
...studded with some cloves for decoration and flavor...
...and some pineapple added...he's ready for the oven...
...I used some dried shitakes to make a vegan mushroom soup for the green bean casserole...
...peeled and sliced some sweet potatoes...
...covered with brown sugar and dotted with Homemade Vegan Butter...
...I basted the WHam as it baked...
...and then...all at once (which is how it should be)...everything was ready...
...the WHam...
...the sweet potatoes...
...the green bean casserole...
...everything was on the table and...
...we were ready for a delicious Christmas feast...
...and we let the kiddos choose the movie...and they chose Bright...
...and that was (for me anyway)...a pretty stressful movie to watch...and I didn't already know the ending...which made it a lot more so...
...it's kind of a buddy-cop-Lord-of-the-Rings-smash-up-of-a-movie...it was good...
...what have you been eating and watching over the Christmas holiday?

...W.I.A. on Christmas Eve...
...I made the dressing to go with the vegan duck first...no real recipe...I just crumbled some leftover cornbread and dried/toasted that in the oven for a bit...
...added some cubed dried bread...spices and veggie broth...then baked again...
...the peas are Julia's take on canned peas...they were pretty good...
...the Vichy Carrots also will be a future post over at the Vegan Version...
...the main course was a VEGAN PÂTÉ DE CANARD EN CROÛTE - Vegan Boned Stuffed Duck Baked in a Pastry Crust...and you can see how that was made over at The Vegan Version...
...the vegan dressing...
...our Christmas Eve table...there's also a bowl of Grandma's Mashed...and Vegan probiotic Biscuits...
...my over-filled plate...
...a close up of the vegan duck...
...this was all so delicious...and fun family time around a table filled with food...
...what did you eat on Christmas Eve?...

...W.I.P. Wednesday...
...remember the pretty antique dish that Amy gave me...
...We think it may be a sugar bowl...it has a little prong on which to hang a spoon...
...but you need a spoon with a hole or a loop for that...which I don't have...
...so I looked through our 'camp' spoons and found a sort of pretty one with some flowers on it that I thought might go well with the antique-y rosy-ness of the dish... ...and the Man just drilled a hole in the top...
...well...it was several holes actually because he started with a really tiny one and worked his way up to a hole large enough for the prong... ...and instead of sugar...we put cranberry sauce in the dish...and served it with the little spoon...

...Vegan Cookies for Santa...
...we used the Vegan Gallettes Sablées for our Santa cookies this year...
...we set our Princess House Santa Cookie plate that we've been using for the last 20 years on top of our tin snowman...with a mug of almond milk and a pear...
...and Santa always leaves evidence that he was there...and ate all the goodies...

...Dinner and a Movie...
...since we did do Dinner and a Movie...(and I bet you can guess the movie too)...I thought I'd go ahead and do another post about it...
...I put some sweet and some regular potatoes in the oven to roast...
...and there in the corner is a single red onion that I found in the drawer...and wanted to do a pretty onion flower like Shaheen had done...over at Allottment 2 Kitchen... ...I made a simple coleslaw with just some shredded cabbage and some Vegan mayo... ...then I made an equally simple tartar sauce...with some pickle...that same onion...and that same mayo... ...I kept the potatoes separate for the Man and Scout as they don't like theirs mixed...like I do...haha... ...and the onion maybe got a little bit too done...but it's still pretty... ...so my dinner plate...a Gardein fishless filet some mixed sweet and regular potatoes...vegan coleslaw...a super soft roll...and the onion flower...it was all so delicious...and simple... ...and the movie was probably my favorite version of Scrooge (A Christmas Carol)... ...the 1970 musical one...
...have you been watching any Christmas films with your family?...
~Have a wonderful weekend!...
