...Master Bath Update...
...a little more work on the Master Bath...I think we just need a few more hours in the day to get the projects completed...
...someone snapped a photo of me cutting...
...a closeup of my technique...I draw a circle...or whatever shape I need...anc cut almost through from one side... and then flip it over and cut the rest from the other side...
...it usually fits perfectly...remember...measure twice cut once...

...Engine 2 Brownies...
...Engine 2...the show...popped up in my Netflix recommendations the other day...and as I'd never heard of it...I did a quick search and the description says it's about ridding your diet of the junk (meat, dairy, refined and processed foods)...so I thought it was funny when I went to the site and the first recipe is for Dark Chocolate Brownies...which I typically consider junk...haha...
...so I gathered the ingredients...
...spread the batter in a parchment lined pan...
...and baked...they seemed too dry when I first took them out of the oven...
...but by the time they cooled and I cut them into squares with the pizza cutter...they were plenty moist...
...super dark and chocolately...
...and since I always compare all new brownie recipes to my beloved Brownie Bites...I have to say that these definitely passed muster...and we'll be making them again...

...D.I.Y. Plant Support...
...both my sweet sissie and my sweet SIL have posted pics of the amaryllises that we each got for Christmas...but mine has yet to bloom...I wonder why...
...but it's a lanky...floppy thing...
...in need of some support...I think... ...so...I had a little think...about what I had on hand that I could use to make some sort of support...and came up with an old coat hanger with a bent paper bottom...so I took that off and got a couple of sets of pliers... ...I left the looped hook intact...but straightened it out a bit...and then made a little hook at the end of one side and hooked that through the look...and then just bent and straightened out the other side and bent it down perpendicular to the loop... ...and now my spindly amaryllis has some support...hopefully it will bloom soon... ...and I only had these two pieces to throw away...

...Guess what...I already had some of that...
...this is some of the yarn that sweet Elizabeth sent me...
...and I was going through my stash over the weekend...and I found another partial ball...I think it was in a similar package my Mom sent...funny that there would be too gifted balls of the same yarn...and from two Elizabeths...haha!

...Vegan Bar Style Pizza for Friday Pizza Night...
...last night was pizza night...of course...
...and I had seen this recipe for Bar Style Pizza using a cast iron pan and a tortilla...and thought we'd give it a try... ...first oil your skillet... ...then wipe away the excess...you just want a thin film... ...put in your tortilla with the smaller bubbles on the bottom... ...add your sauce...we just used some leftover marinara... ...add some vegan cheese...I dolloped on some of the delicious Stretchy Vegan Mozzarella... ...sliced some olives with my handy dandy egg slicer...that's never used for eggs... ...added some Vegan Parmesan... ...and some Italian Seasoning... ...you preheat your cast iron skillet on the stovetop... ...until the bottom of the tortilla crust starts to brown... ...then you pop it under the broiler in the oven for a few minutes (about 3 I'd say) until the Vegan Mozzarella is bubbly and brown... ...Pizza #2...tortilla...marinara...and Vegan Mozzarella... ...some more Italian Seasoning... ...then we added some of the little vegan pepperoni chunks from the SDA store... ...some Vegan Parm... ...browned on the bottom... ...and ran it under the broiler... ...all done...two pizzas done in about 20 minutes... ...served with little tapas plates... ...so good...so easy... ...and cheap too...perfect for Friday night...

...back home...
...so after snow and ice in Wyoming...followed by gorgeous blue skies and 60° F (15° C) temps...
...we came home to a lot of snow...
...and really frigid temps...(-6° F = -21° C)
...by West Virginia standards this is really cold...-3(-3° F = -19° C)...but it's warming up...

...Airport Knitting and Reading...
...we had some minor delays...but didn't have any emergency landings...or miss any flights...
...I brought along the Firefly Cloak to read...and finished it the first day out...remember we had a five hour layover...it was good...and I started knitting another pair of socks from my favorite pattern...with some more of the yarn that Elizabeth sent...
...but I definitely should not have brought the pretty plastic needles I got for Christmas as another one got broken...just clean in two...so I'll try to superglue it back together...and I managed ok with the broken one...just making sure to turn it to the pointy end to knit with...ha!

...the Black Hills...
...an abandoned cabin...and yes we really do go from snow back to dry in just a few miles...the elevation causes that...
...somewhere in the Black Hills...
...I was trying to get a photo of the ice fishermen on this slushy frozen lake...they did the same thing in North Dakota...
...Scout walked out onto the ice...but not far from shore...
...and he found an arrowhead right by the shore...just like he used to in North Dakota...
...heading further east...mule deer by the road...
...look at that sky...
...deadwood near Custer...reminds me of our flu vacation to Deadwood, SD and Mount Rushmore...I wonder what's killing all the trees...
...and I finally get to see Crazy Horse...
...I expected it to be more finished...
...and finally heading back to Casper...to catch our flight home...
