...nothing much to report today...we had a quick snacky sort of dinner ...baked tofu...broccoli...tomato with some slices of Violife on top...
...because we had a wedding rehearsal to attend...and then when we got home...we weren't really up to watching a whole movie...so we goofed around on YouTube for a bit...we're going to try out Glenn's Greek-ish Potato recipe today or tomorrow...and then we watched an episode of Would I Lie to You...before bed...there's an American version as well...but we've not seen it yet...
...what have you been watching lately?...

...4.29...Friday Update...Dolly is in the Box...
...this is one of those little "projects" that looks like it took a long time...but really did not...kind of like the Kitty-Cat Gift Bag Project...there are quite a few steps...but nothing too difficult or time consuming or requiring special equipment...and I had everything on hand and even recycled a box...
...remember back in February when I saved the box that my Valentine's Day flowers came in...JUST because I thought it would be a perfect size box for dolly...
...well...it is a really good size...just a bit too tall...
...so...I cut off the top and used that piece to trace the same outline onto the now shorter box...
...and it's a pretty good 'fit'...so I cut out a 'window'...so you can see dolly in the box...
...and it closes up nice and securely and the 'window' lets you see the dolly nicely...
...I wanted to put the 'Madame Alexander' logo on the box...so I peeled off a layer of the leftover box top...you know...so it would match perfectly...but in the end I don't think that mattered too much...haha...
...taped that to a regular sheet of paper so it would go through our old-old-old printer...haha...and printed out the logo...just from an image I'd found online...
...then I glued that to the top of the little window...and cut around it...
...so...now...I've got to deal with the FTD logos on the box...as I don't want those at all...I just covered them up with some black paper...
...and then I sanded the rough edges a little bit to make everything nice and smooth...
...lined the back...and the box was finished...
...and since dolls are usually secured in their boxes with some sort of long twist tie or tie wrap...I measured where her neck would be and punched a couple of holes for that...
...and got one of the Man's tie wraps out of his tool box...and threaded that through the holes...
...put dolly in and cinched it down around her neck...so now she's nice and secure in the box...
...I adjusted her clothes so the tie wrap doesn't show...and tucked her 'certificate' behind her...
...and here she is completely finished and ready for gifting...

...4.28...What I Ate in a Day...as a Vegan...
...breakfast...surprise...NOT...half of an everything bagel...homemade vegan cream cheese...and apple and some walnuts...and tea...of course...
...then for lunch...I got out the Griddler...and Griddler-ed some sweet potato...perfectly carmelized...
...and still using up all those peppers the Man bought...so a big plate of crudités with homemade vegan ranch...and tofu with BBQ...and tea...of course...
...our pineapple is perfectly ripe now...
..have y'all seen this saying:
Be like a pineapple
Stand Tall
Wear a Crown
...and be sweet on the inside
I thought it was cute...it's actually a title of a book...which was 'suggested' (by Amazon's algorithm) to me...probably because of "You Should See Me in a Crown" that I read for the Read Harder Challenge...haha... ...so I got him all trimmed and cut and into a jar... ...eating quite a bit of it while cutting...and then all the bits that didn't fit into the jar...haha...it was a delicious sweet snack... ...and then dinner was my favorite...beans/greens/rice...and vegan Harvard beets...so yummy...
...what did you eat yesterday?...

...4.27...W.I.P. Wednesday...
...so this is the really long post of all of Little Sissie's little birthday pressies...
...this one is Nerida's Star Pillow...for the star part...the little pink and cream striped nightcap and the face are mine...
...I'm trying to make sure that Little Sissie has the same Grandmommy-made things that Big Sissie does...her star pillow is here...and I made the cap using the leftover yarn from her Rosie the Sleepy Bunny...Little Sissie will get Elton...and her ball is here...so same...but a little bit different... ...you start with two pretty basic single crochet circles... ...and then you sandwich those and start making the star points... ...once I had the two 'legs'...haha...I went ahead and added his little pink circle 'cheeks'... ...and then continued making points... ...except for the last one that will by his little sleep cap...and while it's still open...embroider his sleepy eyes and a sweet little smile... ...then I went ahead and stuffed his body...and started crocheting his little pink and cream stripey cap...stuffing as I went... ...then instead of a pompom on the end of the cap...I wanted to add a little sleepy moon...so I crocheted a wonky circle... ...and folded it in two to make a half moon... ...embroidered sleepy eyes and a little smile... ...stitched up the back seam... ...and the little sleepy moon toggle was finished... ...and I added him to the nightcap... ...and her sweet little star pillow was finished... ...I like it a lot...it's really cute and soft... ...and then I made a precious little amigurumi elephant...it's Elton the Elephant...it was not difficult at all... ...stuffed his 'parts'... ...and stitched him all together...kitten had to check him out...of course... ...here he is with the brown eyes that I didn't like that you already heard about... ...but now...they don't bother me that badly...haha... ...but I unpicked those... ...made the new eyes and stitched them on... ...and then for the final little Grandmommy-made giftie...I made her a ball...it's the Oh Balls pattern...like the one that I made for my niece...except in beachball colours...and I only have a little bit of each colour...leftover from my Beachball Porch Pillow... ...so I knit one of those little banana panels in each colour... ...kitten...of course claims then while they're on the floor... ...arranged them in the colour order that I liked... ...and started stitching them all together... ...all stitched...wrong side out... ...right side out and ready for stuffing... ...it's the perfect size for little hands... ...it turned out pretty perfectly... ...I really like the beach ball effect... ...so we gathered everything together... ...and put it in a sweet little striped gift bag and sent it to Japan...
...obviously this is not all from this week...but what's in your workbasket this week?...
