Eagle Scout Ceremonies are so very special... ...the Scouts gather with their Scout Master for some instruction... ...the Snarf Patrol leads the flag ceremony... ...and then explains each part of the Scout Oath and Promise... ...then the new Eagle Scout is sworn in...
The other day I saw a church parade of all the scouts, guides, brownies, cubs and various branches of the scouting and guiding organisations. They were off for a service in the Cathedral.
I was struck by the difference in uniforms from when I was a girl. The changes since Baden Powell (odd chap) started the organisation are quite interesting, they clearly change but have always been just that bit behind the times!
Not today though, uniforms reflect what children like to wear. Interesting too, that despite 'modern' children spending more time in front of computer and television - it is still a very popular pastime.
