...W.I.P. Wednesday...a little more yard work...

...this is a BEFORE picture of our Japanese Magnolia...you can see it in bloom here...it was getting quite tall...

...so we trimmed it back quite a bit...

...this is a poorly lit BEFORE picture of the big ole' dead (or mostly dead) Magnolia tree in the front yard...

...and an AFTER picture...we're thinking we'll probably replace it with another Magnolia...Magnolia grandiflora or Southern Magnolia...

...and we'll probably do much like we did with the dogwood tree...and plant the new tree in amongst the roots of the old one and then mulch heavily around it...

...and finally, remember the Chestnut Tree we took down this spring...well we had another one...and the boys had both suffered enough with its pollen...

...so we took it down as well...I miss the trees...and the shade...not sure what we'll replace them with...but something pollen-free...HA!

...and...once again...one of the things I love most about the blog is the history...
