...W.I.P. Wednesday...

...this post has nothing to do with knitting...

...and I'm posting it here just as 'internet information' for people searching about how to fix this particular problem...

...and because I'm so TICKLED that we fixed it ourselves...without a trip to the shop...and without spending any money...

...so what happened was this...

...y'all know that Scout drives a 12 almost 13 year old car...it's in good shape and we've taken care of it and it has low mileage...perfect for a new (fairly new) teenage driver...it's an '04 Corolla...

...he came home the other day and said that something weird was happening when he went around a left hand curve...

...there was the sound of rushing water...and then some water sprayed out on the passenger floor...under pressure...but just a few drops...

...I thought that was such a weird set of symptoms...but we took the little car for a drive to test it out...

...and that's exactly what happened...only on a left turn...

...so when we got home...we started investigating...

...we pulled the carpet back on the passenger side floor...

...there was just one little black push pin holding it in place...so put that up for later reinstallation...

...there was no dripping leak...and even with the air conditioner running no leak...

...so...I pulled the flexible hose off of the rigid pipe...and checked that it was not clogged...a few drops of water spilled out...but not a lot...

...but I thought if it was clogged further up the pipe...I'd need something to unclog it with...

...so I went inside and got a pipe-cleaner...after all...I'm cleaning a pipe...HA!

...and quite easily pushed that up into the pipe...just a little way...and immediately a lot of water came gushing out...like about a quart...so it'd probably be a good idea to have something to catch it...I just quickly jammed the flexible hose back up onto the pipe...

...and now the air conditioner drains through the little hose to the underside of the car...the way it's suppposed to...

...so that's how you unclog a compressor drain in a Corolla...
